As custodians of Gaia we want to share with you a Sacred Water Ritual to celebrate World Earth Day. This is a beautiful water ritual that weaves in the magic of Ceremonial Cacao. You can do any time you want to honour the earth and the sacred waters, but it is especially potent to do with us on World Earth Day, or any time the moon is in Virgo (sign of the Priestess) or any water sign, to align with the planetary energy!

But first we want to acknowledge how deeply grateful we are to our beloved Earth for all she offers us without asking for anything in return. We give thanks for her abundant gifts that nourish and sustain us, and for her breathtaking beauty and unwavering love.
Thank you, dear Gaia, for holding us in your loving and welcoming embrace.
We vow to walk with awareness and care. We commit to bringing consciousness to our choices, ensuring we always tread lightly and live in alignment with your seasons and cycles.
While we are all caretakers and custodians of the Earth, at SEM this is something we take to heart. Every decision we make whether in business or everyday life, we approach with mindfulness of its impact on our planet. We remember that we are not separate from the Earth, but we are Earth. As Joy Harjo beautifully puts it; “Remember the earth whose skin you are.”
Our beloved Earth, often called the Blue Planet, holds water across more than 70% of her surface. So tending the waters that nourish and sustain all life is not just important, it’s crucial, for water is life.
Although many people have lost touch with the sacred, holy and healing nature of the waters, we’re excited to witness a shift. We are seeing a global re-awakening rippling across the planet.
People are once more remembering and recognising water as a divine and precious source of life and nourishment - the lifeblood of the Great Mother. A source that not only sustains us but also deepens our connection to the vitality and essence of the Earth.
From the vast oceans and seas, the abundant rivers and lakes, the bubbling streams and creeks and the holy wells and sacred springs dotted around the globe, the waters are calling us to remember.
In the potent words of the Assembly of First Nations:
Water is the most life-sustaining gift on Mother Earth and is the interconnection among all living beings. Water sustains us, flows between us, within us, and replenishes us. Water is the blood of Mother Earth and, as such, cleanses not only herself, but all living things. Water comes in many forms, and all are needed for the health of Mother Earth and for our health. The sacred water element teaches us that we can have great strength to transform even the tallest mountain while being soft, pliable, and flexible. Water gives us the spiritual teaching that we, too, flow into the Great Ocean at the end of our life journey. Water shapes the land and gives us the great gifts of the rivers, lakes, ice, and oceans. Water is the home of many living things that contribute to the health and well-being of everything not in the water.

Water holds memory, stories, spirit and life.
May we keep listening deeply, honouring her ancient wisdom and tending our connection with gentle care, reverence and guardianship.
